Last Day of Work

Last Day of Work 1

Yesterday was my last day at the Vail Christian Church office (I have been the Connection Pastor there for the past 5 years).

The staff and I went to lunch together at Nimbus Brewery, one of my favorite lunch spots.

The whole day seemed odd. I worked on a few things for this coming Sunday - which will be my final day of employment. I cleaned the remaining things out of my desk and bookshelf. I said goodbye to my normal routine.

    1. We are staying with my parents for the time being. We plan to purchase the RV this month. My two daughters are loving all the time with the grandparents!

  1. I remember my last day of work, just a few months ago. It really was a very strange day. I found myself puttering around my office trying to leave it looking just perfect. And then I cried. And then...I felt totally at peace about it. I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day for you at church!

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
