Day #67: Give a Book by Reading a Book

Day #67: Give a Book by Reading a Book 1

Our family recently discovered

We Give Books is an amazing resource for families of young children. It's like an entire children's section of a library on my computer. For free! Today, Stephanie and I traded off reading handfuls of books to the girls from this website.

Day #67: Give a Book by Reading a Book 2

In addition to being a totally free online library, the We Give Books initiative gives a children's book to a charity every time a campaign book is read.

Here is the rundown of how it works:

We Give Books is a free website that enables anyone with access to the Internet to put books in the hands of children who don't have them, simply by reading online. Simply choose the charity you want to read for and then select the books you want to read. For each book you read online, we donate a book to a leading literacy group on your behalf. The more you read, the more we give.

Do you and your kids read on We Give Books?

  1. That's really cool, I've never heard of this site. But I will definitely bookmark it to check out when my boys are awake... ;)

    1. The pages for each book look surprisingly good. Our girls don't mind at all reading the stories off of the computer.

  2. Thanks for letting us know about this site! I just signed up and tried it out with my 4 yr old! We're hooked!

  3. Yes, my 7yr old and I read books off this website. "Goodnight Goon" was especially entertaining! I love that sharing time reading = helping to spread literacy.

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.
