Day #130: Give to the Children's Healthy Smile Project

Day #130: Give to the Children's Healthy Smile Project 1

Our family made a lengthy drive today to Sparta, NJ to visit the dentist.

The tooth canal for one of my front teeth broke on day #13 and I ended up needing a dental implant. Today, the dentist took a mold of my teeth so a permanent implant crown can be made.

To add to our dental woes, lat week Stephanie had a filling fall out. Fortunately, that was replaced at the dentist office today as well.

All that said, we are thankful for dental technology and good dentists.

Tonight, we made a small donation to the Children's Healthy Smile Project.

As a child, I had no idea how important healthy teeth were. As I age, it is increasingly obvious that I need my teeth to last a lifetime.

The Children's Healthy Smile Project is committed to "improve basic oral hygiene and promote a healthy smile by providing oral hygiene supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and educational materials to children in need." They also provide oral hygiene materials for parents.

If you have small children, how diligent are you about brushing their teeth?

  1. My kids LOVE to brush their teeth - they ask if they can brush their teeth every time they go into the bathroom :) so that makes it easy to remember to get their teeth brushed each day! I do help them too though, I think they like sucking the toothpaste off of the toothbrush more than actually brushing...

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.
