Day #119: Give to U.S. Tornado Victims

Day #119: Give to U.S. Tornado Victims 1

Just a few miles away from our campground in Gloucester, VA there is a public school that was demolished by a tornado a few weeks ago. The storm was so severe that the school had to permanently close.

Day #119: Give to U.S. Tornado Victims 2

We've driven by the ruins a handful of times while we have been here. Each time, we are reminded how much devastation a tornado can do to a community and that we need to be praying for the families affected by these powerful twisters.

The storm season this year in the US seems to be unusually parlous. Today, we decided to make a small donation to US Disaster Relief with Samaritan's Purse.

Do you have any family or friends that were affected by this year's tornados?

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
